Software License Agreement¶
Version: October 19, 2026
This agreement is between High Tech Forms, LLC ("High Tech Forms," "we," or "us") and the person or organization purchasing or using the licensed software ("you"). It covers our form templates, accompanying software, and documentation, collectively the "Software."
This version applies to orders and renewals for which you accept these terms. Publishing it does not automatically replace an earlier agreement. A separately signed agreement controls where its terms differ. Custom programming projects are governed by their own agreed project terms.
1. Your license¶
We grant you a non-exclusive license to install and use the Software covered by your order, subject to this agreement, payment of the applicable fees, and an active subscription.
Each purchased license permits activation on one computer. You must purchase enough licenses for all computers on which you install or use the Software. Installing it on a shared server does not allow unlicensed computers to use it.
Your employees and contractors may use the Software for your organization's business on licensed computers. You may not rent, resell, sublicense, or provide the Software to others except through a transfer permitted below.
2. Subscription term and expiration¶
Your order or invoice identifies the Software, license quantity, subscription period, and charges. Support starts on activation and continues while your subscription is active, as described in our Technical Support Policy.
An active subscription is required to use the Software, including creating or modifying forms with it. If your subscription expires, you must stop using the licensed Software until it is renewed or reinstated. Expiration does not require you to delete completed documents or business records. Keeping those records does not extend your right to use the Software's licensed editing or automation features.
Renewal arrangements and charges are those specified in your order or renewal notice. This agreement does not itself establish automatic renewal.
3. Installation and supported systems¶
Use the Software Manager and follow the installation instructions. You are responsible for installing the Software on a supported computer and maintaining the required version of Windows, desktop Microsoft Word, and other applicable software.
Review the requirements for your forms before purchasing. Older Word instructions in our documentation archive do not mean that current templates support those versions.
Licenses must be activated through our licensing process. Internet access may be needed for installation, activation, updates, and license management. Do not bypass licensing controls or use another customer's activation credentials.
4. Moving or transferring a license¶
Moving to another computer¶
Before moving a license, complete the uninstallation procedure on the original computer. Contact support for assistance with reinstallation. You may not keep both computers activated under one license.
Deleting files, replacing a computer, or reinstalling Windows is not a substitute for the documented uninstallation procedure. Lost or unrecoverable licenses are subject to the replacement charges in the Technical Support Policy.
Transferring to another person or organization¶
You may transfer a license if you:
- Follow the documented uninstallation procedure and retain no copies of the licensed Software.
- Notify High Tech Forms in writing of the transfer.
- Ensure the recipient accepts the applicable license terms and has an active subscription before using the Software.
- Transfer the applicable current version and any earlier versions supplied with that license, without keeping a separate right to use them.
A transfer does not increase the number of licensed computers.
5. Documents, ownership, and restrictions¶
You may create, retain, and share completed documents produced with properly licensed Software. Sharing a document does not give its recipient a license to our templates, software, or licensed automation features. A recipient who needs those features must have the appropriate license and active subscription.
You retain your rights in the information and original content you supply. High Tech Forms and the applicable copyright holders retain their rights in the templates, underlying form text, software, and documentation. You do not acquire ownership of those materials by filling in or modifying a form.
You may make copies needed for authorized installation or backup, but not to provide extra installations or distribute our templates or program code. You must take reasonable precautions to prevent unauthorized use and retain applicable copyright and ownership notices.
Except where applicable law permits otherwise, you may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software. Do not remove licensing controls or distribute modified versions of the Software without our written permission.
6. Support, updates, and form revisions¶
Support and program updates are included with your active subscription under the Technical Support Policy. Program updates include available bug fixes, improvements, and features.
Changes to the underlying form itself are form revisions and may carry a separate fee, as described in that policy. Availability of an update or revision does not promise future products or features.
Our Privacy Policy explains the copyright-holder reporting associated with certain template purchases.
7. Limited warranty and correction period¶
During an active subscription, we warrant that the Software will perform in accordance with its documentation when used unmodified on a supported system.
If installation fails or the Software does not perform as documented, notify us with enough information to reproduce the problem and allow us a 90-day correction period from that notice to correct the problem. You must reasonably cooperate with diagnosis and testing.
If the problem remains unresolved at the end of that period, you may cancel the affected license and subscription and request a refund of the subscription fees paid for the affected Software for the subscription period in which you reported the problem, plus subscription fees charged for that Software during the correction period. Each payment is refunded only once. Earlier license purchases and earlier subscription periods are not included in this refund.
A claim reported during an active subscription remains eligible for this correction and refund process if the subscription later expires. You do not have to renew solely to pursue that claim. Expiration still ends your right to use the Software as described above.
Before a refund is issued, stop using and uninstall the affected Software, return or delete the supplied Software and documentation, and confirm completion in writing. You may retain your completed documents and business records.
We will issue the refund within 30 days after the correction period has ended and we have received your refund request and confirmation of removal. The correction or refund remedy applies to the affected Software, not unrelated products or orders.
The warranty does not cover problems caused by unsupported configurations, hardware or third-party software rather than our Software, accidents, abuse, misuse, unauthorized modifications, or computer viruses.
8. Other warranties and liability¶
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the warranty above is our only warranty. We disclaim other express or implied warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. The correction and refund remedies above are your exclusive contractual remedies for failure to meet this warranty.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, High Tech Forms is not liable for consequential or incidental damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the Software, including lost profits, business interruption, lost information, or other resulting financial loss, even if advised of the possibility.
Nothing in this agreement excludes rights, warranties, remedies, or liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded. Your rights may vary by jurisdiction.
