Texas RRC reporting forms¶
From earlier versions of this guide
This section was carried over from earlier versions of the user guide. Menu names and screens may differ in your version of Word or your form. If something does not match, contact High Tech Forms Support.
Filing rules, enrollment steps, and file formats change. Confirm the current Texas Railroad Commission requirements before you submit a report.
Form PR¶
Entering data¶
Date: Enter a two-digit month and four-digit year in the cells just above Production Month/Year.
Use the arrow keys to navigate the form and enter the appropriate information in each cell. Insert a tab before a lease name by pressing Ctrl+Tab. Tab alone moves the cursor to the next cell.
In the first column, enter the field name, the lease name, or both. To enter both, type the field name, press Enter, press Ctrl+Tab, then type the lease name.
February 2006 EDI change: For gas wells, include the gas well number in the lease name with a pound sign (#), such as Barnaby #37.
Column 1 formatting: Use no more than 32 characters per field or lease name. Do not type in all capitals. Abbreviate if you run out of space.
Zero-value items: Leave items with a value of zero blank rather than entering zeroes.
Leases cannot span two pages: Keep all data for a lease on one page. If the remaining rows are insufficient, move the entire lease’s data to the next page.
Dispositions: Put different disposition codes on separate rows, not in the same box. For example, put disposition code 1 and disposition code 2 on two separate rows.
Alphabetizing data¶
Enter all data, including all disposition codes, before choosing Alphabetize from the High Tech Forms menu. The command sorts data to RRC specifications and compresses it efficiently. Delete any empty tables left afterward using the instructions below. For macro settings, see Macro security.
After alphabetizing, a field name appears only in the first row for that field’s leases. Subsequent rows show only the lease names.
Adding pages¶
Choose Add-A-Page from the High Tech Forms menu to add a blank page at the end of the document.
Inserting new data¶
Add new data at the bottom of the report, then use Alphabetize to put it in order. Include the field name, lease name, and RRC Identifier.
Do not manually add rows to any Form PR table. This throws off the document and data spacing, and the RRC will reject the form.
Deleting empty pages and tables¶
Position the cursor inside the table you want to remove, then choose Delete Table from the High Tech Forms menu.
AutoCalc¶
AutoCalc calculates End of Month using the supplied values. Blank items are treated as zero.
If you enter only Beginning of Month and End of Month and they are not equal, you receive a warning. If you enter three of the four values—Beginning of Month, Production, Disposition, and End of Month—the blank item is calculated for you.
Fonts¶
Do not change the fonts on Form PR. They are specified by the RRC.
Transferring numbers¶
To start next month’s report, open the prior month’s form and choose Transfer Values from the High Tech Forms menu. End of Month values transfer to Beginning of Month. Save the new report with a new filename.
Filing via EDI¶
Obtain a new account number from the RRC by completing a S.A.D. form on its website. After receiving the account number, create and submit the EDI file:
- Open the PR form from which you want to create the EDI file.
- Choose Create EDI File from the High Tech Forms menu.
- Read the generated EDI file’s path in Word’s status bar at the bottom of the application.
- Send the EDI file to the RRC. Contact the RRC for submission requirements, methods, and information.
Form W-12 — Inclination Report¶
Checking boxes¶
Use Check-A-Box to check or uncheck boxes.
Adding pages¶
Choose Add-A-Page from the High Tech Forms menu to add pages for additional depth reporting.
AutoCalc¶
Complete columns 11 and 13 in Record of Inclination, then choose AutoCalc from the High Tech Forms menu to calculate displacement and complete the other columns.
Form T-1 — Monthly Transportation and Storage Report¶
The T-1 uses a Form Document and a Data Document. Enter your information in the T-1D Data Document, then create the T-1 Form Document from it. The Form Document can be used separately, but is generally used during the merge from the Data Document.
Step 1: Start and complete a T-1 Data Document¶
Create a new document using the RRC_T-1D template, or open a previously saved Data Document.
Complete each table that applies. Skip tables without data. Do not delete any tables or the first blank row of any table. If you accidentally delete something, press Ctrl+Z as many times as necessary to undo the deletion.
Adding rows¶
In the T-1D Data Document, use Word’s Table menu to add rows, or press Tab at the end of the last row to add another blank row.
Adding districts¶
Choose Add New District Tables from the High Tech Forms menu to add tables for another district.
Filling and alphabetizing data tables¶
You do not need to enter duplicate information when a field has multiple operators or an operator has multiple leases. Alphabetize sorts data by Field, Operator, and Lease and fills in the blank repeated cells.
After completing each table except Form Information, choose Alphabetize from the High Tech Forms menu. You must run Alphabetize for each applicable table so data transfers properly to the T-1 during the merge.
Save the completed Data Document.
Step 2: Create a T-1 from the T-1D¶
Choose Create T-1 from Data from the High Tech Forms menu to create a new T-1 with your data.
Complete the remaining items, including Balance Available for Movement (Beginning of Month), Frozen Stock, Liquid Hydrocarbons In Line, and Receipts from Leases (Liquids from Gas Wells Reported by Producer on Form P-2).
Replace each open bracket (<) with the appropriate data, or delete it if no data applies.
Step 3: Run AutoCalc¶
Choose AutoCalc from the High Tech Forms menu to calculate all required formulas.
Step 4: Print and save¶
Print the T-1, then save it with an appropriate name if desired.
To make later changes, edit the T-1D Data Document, not the generated T-1.
